apartment S

Stuttgart, Germany

The walls are 2.60 meters high, the bedrooms and bathrooms are small, and the back of the apartment is stuck in the ground. That is the initial situation. Ergo, walls are torn down, lintels are dismantled. Only one is not allowed to disappear for structural reasons: A graphic trick saves the day: in Italian it now says "I'm coming too. No, not you. Room-height fixtures and large sliding doors otherwise emphasize the vertical everywhere. The furniture surfaces are in dark, glossy mahogany as a contrast to the white walls. In terms of color, the apartment as a whole opens up from the dark, rear side to the light, wide front by making the horizontal, rear main axis jet black. Painting as well as velvet curtains are furthermore intended to be theatrical and energetic. The transition from the apartment to the kitchen is designed in the form of a filigree shelf, and the fireplace is the center of this "color dynamic".
